The senior official of MHADA said that these plots are to be allotted since 2014. He also quoted that most of these apartments are in suburbs, including Ghatkopar, Dahisar, and Versova. The senior official of MHADA said that MHADA is planning to bring a large number of flats under Mhada lottery in May, so that maximum number of people can fulfill the dream of owning a house. Most Mhada flats are at available at an affordable rate.

Apart from the regular constructions of affordable houses, the authority has also decided to improve the construction of BDD chowls which are spread around the area of 96 acres. After this redevelopment, Mhada will able to get 13,000 additional flats, besides rehabilitating the local tenants.
