Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is an initiative by the government of India in which affordable housing will be provided to the poor family with a target of building 2 crore affordable houses. Under PM Awas Yojana, the central government proves funds to the poor families living in rural areas for construction of houses. The financial assistance of Rs.1,20,000 is provided for construction of houses in plain ares and 1,30,000 for hilly areas.
Under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana the central government provides financial assistance to the poor and weak income group families of rural areas to build their own pucca house.
