After the much awaited draw results of DDA housing scheme were announced on Tuesday, the successful 25,034 applicants have the reasons to cheer but they are also looking for “What to do next?”.

The 25,034 applicants who got the flat in 2014 scheme are extremely lucky as there were more than 10 Lakh applications submitted for the scheme. Some of the applicants may also want to surrender the flat due to some reason while most would like to retain/purchase the flat. All are confused about their next step in this regard, so here we bring you a 11 point guide on the procedure for flat allotment after the draw.

Guide to flat allotment after the draw

  1. The development authority will send allotment to all the successful applicants within 15 days, and unsuccessful applicants check their application number in the waiting list of 2014 scheme to know if there is still any hope for them.
  2. The authority then will set-up the camps for document verification and the successful applicants will have to visit the DDA office to verify their identity and documents.
  3. After the document verification, the authority will issue the demand letter asking for the price of flat.
  4. If someone like to surrender the flat, do it before receiving the possession letter, else some percent from the registration amount will be deducted which will increase by time.
  5. The applicants, after receiving the demand letter will have to deposit the entire amount of allotted flat to the authority within 90 days.
  6. If the applicant fails to deposit the entire amount within 90 days, 9 more months will be given and applicants will be required to pay 12% interest on the rest of the amount.
  7. The online payments will be accepted through NEFT and RTGS mode, the applicants willing to do online payment will first need to generate e-challan from the DDA official website.
  8. The e-challan can be generated by entering the basic details such as flat scheme, address, bank name and payment mode etc.
  9. Do the payment and keep the printout of e-challan and transaction slip with you for future reference.
  10. Important thing to remember: the online payment has to be done from the bank account of applicant only because at the time of final handover, DDA will ask for the bank account statement and passbook of the applicant.
  11. You will get final allotment letter after completing these formalities. This final allotment-demand letter will also be sent to the concerned commissioner of the Income Tax Department.

The registration amount of the unsuccessful applicants will be refunded within 30 days after the draw, i.e till 25th December. The amount will be refunded via NEFT/RTGS into the bank account of applicant which was filled in the form at the time of application.
