Noida Authority to Build 2000 Flats Under Samajwadi Awas Yojna

Noida Authority is all set to start construction of about 2000 flats in Sector 117, 118 and 122 for economically weaker section (EWS) and low income group (LIG) categories of the society. The authority will then allot the flats through draw system. The housing scheme for allotment of these flats will be launched under Affordable housing scheme Samajwadi Awas Yojna of Uttar Pradesh Government.

The construction of the flats will be completed within one year after the commencement of the construction. The tenders for the construction has also been released and bits are being invited. Noida authority is spending approximately Rs 160 Crores for the construction of these flats.

The area of EWS flats under the new housing scheme of Noida Development Authority will be 29-30 Square Meter while the area of LIG flats would be 54-55 square meter. Out of the total 2000, authority will build 1350 flats for EWS and 650 for LIG category.

COST
The cost of EWS flats is expected to be around Rs 15 Lakh while the LIG category applicants will have to pay about the double the cost of EWS flats. The cost of LIG flats will be around Rs 30 Lakh under the scheme. All the flats will be constructed in 4 storey buildings.

LIG flats under the scheme will have 2 rooms, kitchen, bathroom, toilet and a balcony while the EWS flats will offer only one room, kitchen, bathroom, toilet and balcony.

However, the scheme allotment procedure has not yet been finalized by the state government but as soon as the instructions are made, the authority will take action accordingly.
