Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) is likely to include 972 flats being constructed at Manpada near Tikujiniwadi in Thane in its 2015 lottery. The construction for these 972 homes will be completed in 2016.
LATEST UPDATE: MHADA Lottery 2015 Launching in May-June 2015.
As per the MHADA’s housing policy, the homes will be sold through lottery in 2015 while the possession will be given once the construction is completed in 2016. As a part of its housing offering, MHADA is constructing at least 9,210 affordable flats in Manpada, Kavesar, Virar (Boilng) and Mira Road in Thane district.
In the first phase, out of total, 1,260 flats are being constructed for EWS, 1,930 for MIG and 16 for HIG. The rest 5,843 flats will be constructed and distributed among the Low Income Group of the society. The rest 1,061 flats will be constructed in the second phase out of which 265 will be for the LIG, 723 for MIG. 161 and 73 shops will be constructed in two phase respectively.
According to MHADA officials, Thane is one of the most preferred location for people looking to re-locate in search of work or just moving within the city. In the times when private real estate prices are very high, MHADA flats are proving to be a good option for people both economically and quality.
MHADA is also planning to construct at least 7000 flats in partnership with some private developers but the proposal is still awaiting approval from the CM of the state. According to MHADA officials, if the joint venture projects goes through, MHADA will be able to allot 15,000 to 16,000 flats through a computerized lottery in next few years.
MHADA has recently announced the lottery draw results for 2641 flats which were allotted on 25th June under the Konkan Board and Mumbai Board separately.
