UP Awas Vikas Parishad to Launch Housing Scheme in Vasundhara Sector 3

Taking one more step towards affordable housing, Uttar Pradesh Awas Vikas Parishad may come up with a new affordable housing scheme in Vasundhara Sector 3 early next year. UPAVP will be offering affordable multi-storey flats at prices between Rs. 14 Lakh to 20 Lakh. The scheme may be announced in February 2015.

The proposal of bringing the new scheme has been sent to the headquarters of Parishad for final approval. According to the Joint Commissioner of UPAVP, Mr. Deepchand, there are several commercial and institutional plots in Vasundhara Sector 3 which finds no taker despite putting on sale through many advertisements in last few years. These plots are still vacant and the board has decided to change the land use of these plots and construct multi-storey flats because of small size of plots. Two types of LIG flats will be constructed on these plots.

The Joint commissioner of UPAVP met the engineering team of the circle last week and decided to launch the affordable housing scheme on the unused vacant land in the area. According to him, it is a challenge to build affordable houses and the engineering wing of UPAVP also attended a workshop in Delhi for the same.

Two categories of LIG flats
Uttar Pradesh Vikas Parishad will be developing flats for lower income group of the society in Vasundhara Sector 3. The two categories of flats for LIG will be constructed with area of 40 and 60 square foot. The cost of the flats will be between Rs. 14 Lakh to Rs. 20 Lakh. The scheme will offer about 250 flats in total.
