Yamuna Expressway Authority to Build Township in Mathura, Agra and Aligarh

Yamuna Authority has approved the proposal of developing township in three cities other than Jewar. These three cities would be Mathura, Agra and Aligarh. Under the initiative, high – rise buildings will be created along with the Yamuna Expressway. The authority have already started preparation to execute the township development.

Yamuna Expressway Authority will acquire 1500 acres of land along with the bank of Expressway in the first phase of development in these 3 cities. A total of 2200 acres of land will be acquired in the Gautam Buddha Nagar itself. Authority will begin acquiring the land after the 2014 Lok-Sabha elections and a total of at least Rupees 1756 Crore will be spent of acquiring the land.

Good thing is that the authority needs not to take any approval from the NCR planning board because all the three cities Mathura, Agra and Aligarh geographically fall outside the national capital region. While the second phase master plan will be approved by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, led by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

An approximate of 70% area in the master plan has been reserved for the greenery. According to Mr. P.C. Gupta, CEO of Yamuna Expressway Authority, the Yamuna city is being expanded knowing that there is huge housing demand in Agra, Mathura, Aligarh and nearby cities.
