According to a Senior Rajasthan Housing Board official, the board will launch 50 new housing schemes in coming 60 days in the 18 cities including Jaipur.

Under the new housing schemes, Rajasthan Housing Board has proposed to develop 2,634 independent plots, flats and duplex in 18 cities. Both old and new applicants will be allowed to apply for the scheme benefits.

The board will develop 704 flats for the middle income group A and B in Sanganer in Jaipur. 17 flats in Mansoravar and 256 flats in Indra Gandhi Nagar for the higher income group will be developed under the scheme.

A total of 48 houses to be developed for Lower income group families. According to the officials all the schemes will be launched based on the self-finance scheme model and out of all 16 schemes will be on regular basis.

The housing board is expecting a lot of buyer attraction to the schemes this time compared to schemes in recent past when only a few people applied even after extending the last date of depositing the application form twice. The main reason people didn’t applied for the schemes was the constant increase in the prices and the delay in the construction. According to the officials the cost of construction has increased by more than 30% in last 2 years and hence the cost of a flat for Middle Income Group B category has gone up to 7-8 lakh.

The number of applications received by RHB recently for HIG and MIG was even less than the number of proposed flats. However, the families that fall under lower income group and economically weaker section continue to be the buyers of properties in these schemes.
