Odisha Govt. Approves Sudaksya Yojana for Girls to Pursue ITI Courses

State government of Odisha has taken an initiative towards encouraging girls for taking technical education. To start the initiative, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved Sudaksya Yojana for Girls to pursue technical courses in government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). Sudaksya Yojana Odisha is a technical education programme for girls for financial year 2017-18 and 2018-19. Under the scheme, technical training will be provided to the girls for enabling them to get better opportunities in technical field.

Under the Sudaksya Yojana, the government aimed to enroll about 5000 girls in the Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in current financial years and about 48 government ITIs are available across the state. This initiative will increase the enrollment of girls in ITIs by 30 percent.

The scheme will allow the girls who passed their matric examination (Class 12th) to enroll for getting technical knowledge from in ITIs. Online portal for registration under Sudaksya Yojana Odisha to be launched soon.

  • The scheme will benefit the girls by creating opportunities for them to get technical education from government institutes.
  • Over 5000 girls in 48 government ITIs will be enrolled in financial year 2017-18 and 2018-19.
  • The scheme will make the girls more self dependent and financial empower.
  • The main target of the scheme is to increase the count of girls students in ITIs.

Registration process for enrollment under Odisha Sudaksya Yojana will be started soon and all girls completed their class 12 would be able to make registration. The registration for the enrollment under the scheme to be invited through the online portal which to be launched soon by the Odisha government.
