FYJC Online Admission Mumbai 2018-19 Without Arts Quota

The removal of 2% reservation will increase at least 1800 seat for the students having no quota. In 2018-19 FYJC admissions, students will be selected on the basis of merit list and marks scored in 10th class. Now the students with reservation would not be able to get admission in Maharashtra First Year Junior College (FYJC) through arts quota. The only chance to get FYJC admission in 11th class is to score high (10th class) and be list merit list.

The reason behind the decision of the department is Extra marks. The Students are given extra marks under arts quota which increase the percentage of marks for students with arts subject in Higher Secondary level. In 2017-18 admission of FYJC, 1,847 seats were reserved under arts quota but this time, the students will be selected for these seats on general basis.

The new GR may also make it more difficult for Class X students to get extra marks under the arts and cultural quota, as the state school education and sports departments has withdrawn its previous resolutions about awarding extra marks and made it tougher for students to qualify for higher marks.
