The fresh draw of lots for 8000 GHB houses was cancelled after a protest from the applicants. The computerized draw of homes resulted in the irregularities in allotment of homes due to the software glitch. According to the sources, the housing board has faced such a software problem for the very first time. It has already allotted 1,07,218 houses through 13 computerized draws.

The fresh draw will have one modification, there will be separate draw for each of the four cities of Rajkot, Ahemdabad, Surat and Vadodara. The software which caused the irregularities was developed by Dev Infotech but Gujarat government has cancelled the draw after the incident.

The responsibility of conducting the fresh draw has been given to the national level government agency NIC.
