MHADA Lottery 2016 in Mumbai to Start From 24 June For 972 Flats

Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) Mumbai finally announced its most awaited lottery of the year for Mumbai region. It is a good news for those who were waiting for MHADA Mumbai Lottery 2016.

MHADA lottery 2016 in Mumbai will have 972 flats in different location including Dahisar, Borivali, Kandivali, Malad, Goregaon, Andheri, Powai, Mulund, Mankhurd, Sion, Chembur.

Of 972 flats, 582 units are in under construction which to be offered in the scheme. However, the MHDA earlier claimed that it would not offer flats in buildings that have not received the Occupation Certificate (OC) to avoid any delay in possession. And these under construction flats will take around two years for possession. Around 45 percent of flats available in the Mumbai lottery are in old building for which the authority have Occupation Certificate.

Mhada has introduced new income slabs for all categories including Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Lower Income Group (LIG), Middle Income Group (MIG) and the Higher Income Group (HIG) due to which the MHADA Mumbai lottery 2016 delayed.

The applications and the registration for MHADA Mumbai Lottery 2016 will start from 24 June and will be closed on 25 July 2016. Applications for MHADA new housing scheme 2016 can be done through online mode by using the MHADA online portal within the registration period.

According to the source, majority of 416 flats will available for LIG followed by 228 flats for MIG, 190 flats for EWS and remaining 135 flats will available for HIG category. The price for flats in the Mumbai lottery ranges from Rs. 8 lakh which goes upto Rs. 80 lakh.

Around 45 percent of flats available in the Mumbai lottery are in old building for which the authority have Occupation Certificate. Apart from, the remaining units are available in the building which are in under construction.

“Most of the units are in old buildings as the Mhada has no new flats to offer for the lottery in city. This year we have around 972 homes. This number will further come down next year due to land scarcity”, the official said.
