Jammu Master Plan-2032: Jammu Development Authority will be included the big area of 652 square kilometer in the new Master Plan-2032 of Jammu. The proposal for including the area has been submitted to the Housing & Urban Development Department for obtaining approval of State Cabinet. The preparation of Zonal Plans under JDA New Master Plan would get delayed due to less staff member in JDA.
The source told the media that a total of 305 square kilometer area included in the existing Master Plan but in the revised Master Plan and it will applicable till 2032, the JDA have been proposed to be extended the limits of local area by double of 305 square meter.
The authority has to be notified the 103 village settlements for extension of Master Plan limits to 652.33 square meter. For this purpose the authority has received the NOCs (No Objection Certificates) from Rural Development and Revenue Departments & the same have been communicated to the Housing and Urban Development Department.
The Draft Master Plan-2032 is completed in all aspects & the plan needs to be notified for inviting objection & suggestions, which is a statutory requirement under Jammu Section 10(1) & Kashmir Development Act, 1970.
The Master Plan is a macro level planning of any city while zonal plans are micro level planning; this gives a least attention to the preparation of zonal development plans. For this purpose, Jammu Development Authority would require additional manpower to start development activity within area of 652 square meter. They informed that at present JDA have only one Director Land Management, two Tehsildars, 4 Girdawars and 14 Khilafwarzi Officers in its enforcement wing, which is grossly inadequate to implement even the existing Master Plan, which becomes further casualty due to slackness of Enforcement Wing.
