Dr. BR Ambedkar Awas Yojana is an ambitious housing scheme for the families belonging to scheduled castes. Under the scheme, those families are being benefited, by providing them an assistance of Rs. 25,000 for repairing/renewal of houses, belonging to BPL (below poverty line) families of scheduled castes.
Last year Dr. BR Ambedkar Renewal Housing Scheme benefited about 1530 beneficiaries by distributing a total assistance of amount one crore twenty one lakh fifty thousand.
District Collector, Sharandeep Kaur Brar informed that the applicants belonging to scheduled castes, Vimukt/Tupriwas castes should registered in the list of BPL category. To get the benefits of the scheme, the applicants should have kutcha house or own land in the size of 3-5 Marla or agriculture land.
The applicant can also avail the benefits of the scheme in case of not having a registry of house and the applicants have been living in the same house for last 10 years and regularly paying any two bills from these three including electricity bill/water bill, stove tax, property tax.
