Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is all set to revise the ambitious 2021 master development plan of Delhi as it has received NOD from the Election Commission of India. The authority was planning to meet and brainstorm the master plan in the April itself but the model code of conduct imposed by election commission stalled the whole thing.

According to the DDA officials, they had sought permission from the EC to held meetings for the revision of master plan and brainstorm the suggestions from the officials and public. The meetings have already been started for the same after getting permission from EC.

The complete revision of the master plan is expected to complete in next 2-3 months where more than 100 suggestion will be discussed before the final draft is ready. However, most of these approvals have already been approved by the planning officials but still since the new master plan will change the face of the Capital city, it has to be revised and discussed in deep.

A proposal to increase the FAR of the community centre and district centre to bring it at par with the commercial centre in developed areas with 250 FAR is also one of the suggestions. DDA is also planning to implement the new Land Pooling Policy as soon as possible and it has already earmarked at least 200 villages for the same. Most of these villages are located in outer Delhi area.

According to the proposal, 95 villages to be converted into the development areas while 88 into the urban areas. These villages are expected to release at least 70,000 acres of land in the capital city real estate. Environmental issues are also to be revised and re-drafted.

The deadline of clearing the modifications in the ambitious Delhi master plan was extended to March from January.
