The people who are seeking for house in Delhi under DDA new housing scheme will have to wait for more couple of months. According to the source, DDA has around 10,000 flats ready to be sold but the authority is yet not ready to launch its latest housing scheme.
In DDA housing scheme 2014, around 8,000 flats were returned by allottees due to many reasons like small size etc. These flats have been added to the new housing scheme but the authority is not sure that these flat would find any buyer this time around either.
The authority was planning to launch its latest housing scheme for this year but it is not likely to happen in the upcoming three or four months.
According to the statement of DDA senior official, 10,000 flats are large enough to offer in the new housing scheme but the problem is that 80% of flats have already been rejected by allottees in the earlier scheme and we are not sure if many people will be willing to apply for these flats again.
A stack of rejected flats are in Dwarka, were constructed for LIG (lower income group) category. These flats were found to be small in size and the allottees of these flats were preferred to surrender flats than to live in them.
The source stated that apart from these flats, that form a bulk of our inventory at present, there are only 2,000 new flats on offer. It is better to wait for the time when we have more flats to offer that are in advanced stages of construction or finishing at present.
DDA new housing scheme is not going to be launched in the next couple of months and the date of the launch is yet to be decided.
Currently, 33 housing project of DDA are in ongoing process that are expected to be completed by this year and many of these project will be offered in the proposed housing scheme of DDA. The large number of these flats will be available in areas such as Narela and Rohini where DDA has large pockets of land to develop housing projects. The flats under the new scheme will also be available in the coveted locations such as Vasant Kunj’s Pocket D-6 and Dwarka’s Sector 18-B.
