Delhi Development Authority is failed to maintain the Commonwealth Games flats. The residents of CWG flats in Vasant Kunj are protesting against DDA for lack of maintenance and they claim that DDA has failed to provide basic services in the four societies of CWG. However the authority has collecting crores of rupees from the residents as maintenance charge. The residents said that each society has paid approximately Rs 22 crore as maintenance charge for 30 years.

On the last Saturday, residents gathered outside the society for demanding better facilities. They said that they have taken huge loans for these flats but DDA has not providing basic services like lift, roads pavements and other services. A member of Ganga Block said that the roads have potholes, pavements are broken, and lifts are not operational in several blocks.

Till now the authority is carrying out the development work of these CWG flats while the possession was given a few years back. Out of four societies, Ganga is the worst affected. The residents of Ganga society said that it is impossible to live here. The lifts of the block are not operational and the construction of the flats is of poor quality and the basements of the block are flooded with sewer water, leading to unhygienic condition. The basements are spaced for parking but they are flooded with sewer water that is the reason the residents are forced to park their vehicle on the open road.

Now the residents are planning to form a federation against DDA and they are also planning to file a case against DDA in the consumer court.
