COVID-19 Coronavirus Free Testing & Treatment for Ayushman Bharat Beneficiaries (PMJAY)

Government has started free testing and treatment of Coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms under Ayushman Bharat scheme 2019. The central govt. will provide free coronavirus testing and treatment facilities to over 50 crore Ayushman Bharat heath insurance scheme beneficiaries. Pepople who shows symptoms like pneumonia, fever, difficulty in respiration can now go for free checkups.

The National Health Authority (NHA) said ina statement on Saturday that the private laboratories and empannelled hospitals will also provide free services to the beneficiaries. The NHA, government organisation which runs the Ayushman Bharat Scheme said a statement “Testing and treatment of Covid-19 is already available for free in public facilities. Now more than 50 core citizens, eligible under the health assurance scheme will be able to avail free testing through private labs and treatment for COVID-19 in empaneled hospitals.

Free Testing and Treatment of Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Ayushman Bharat Yojana(PMJAY)

Testing and treatment for COVID-19 will be free of cost for Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries at private laboratories and empanelled hospitals said by National Health Authority. Hospital empaneled under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) can use their authorized testing faclilites or tie up with an authorized testing facility.

Coronavirus COVID-19 test will be carried out as per protocols of Indian Concil for Medical Research (ICMR) and by private labs approved or registered by it. Treatment of COVID-19 by private hospitals will be covered under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY).

Basic Protective Measure Against Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)

People have to take the following protective measure against croronavirus (COVID-19)

  • Wash your hands frequently, regularly and throughly clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water
  • Maintain social distancing, maintan at least 1 metre (3 feet) distance
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
  • Avoid organizing and paticipating in large groups
  • Do not spit in Public
  • Cover your mouth while sneezing and coughing
