Chandigarh Housing Board or CHB is the governing body of Chandigarh Government. Organized in the year 1976, it is an extension of Haryana Housing Board Act, 1971. The first objective of this board is to provide the good quality housing and shelters for the citizens of Chandigarh at affordable cost.
Following the main responsibilities of CHB
- The board plans and develop affordable residential townships including community centers, playgrounds, educational institutes, and other basic lifestyle facilities.
- The board coordinates with municipalities, municipal corporation, and the other local authorities for the development activities.
- The CHB is responsible for planning and implementation of housing schemes.
