Centre Approved 1.17 Lakh Houses for 6 States under PMAY

The Union government has sanctioned the more than 1.17 lakh houses for urban areas of six states. Yesterday, the government has given its approval for the construction of 1.17 lakh houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The houses will be constructed for the urban poor of six state with the estimated worth of Rs. 5,773 crores.

Following are the states where these houses are sanctioned Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Karnataka and Kerala.

Of total amount, the central assistance will be Rs 1,816 crores under the PM Awas Yojana (Urban).
Yesterday, MHUPA (Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation) approved the construction of 1,17,814 affordable houses for urban poor of above six states. Of total, 27,475 new houses sanctioned for Madhya Pradesh, 25,221 houses for Bihar, 20,099 houses for Jharkhand, 2,115 houses for Odisha, 31,424 affordable for Karnataka and 11,480 houses for Kerala.

With today’s approval, the total number of houses being taken up for construction under the scheme has gone up to 17.60 lakh at the total cost of Rs 96,018 crore. The central assistance for these will be Rs 27,714 crore.
