6,707 Affordable Houses Sanctioned for Puducherry, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh

Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation (MHUPA) has sanctioned 6,707 affordable houses for the urban poor in Puducherry, Telangana and Himachal Pradesh under the central government’s housing mission “Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban“.

Of total, MHUPA approved 3,128 more affordable housing for Puducherry, 924 for Telangana and 2,655 for Himachal Pradesh. The urban poor in these areas will get a benefits of PMAY scheme.

Yesterday, the housing ministry sanctioned 1,24,521 affordable housing for urban poor which to constructed under PM Awas Yojana with the expenditure of Rs 95,671 crore. Central assistance of Rs 27,766 crore has been allotted for the construction of houses under PMAY.

Under Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC) component of PMAY (Urban), 3,128 houses sanctioned for four towns of
Puducherry which to constructed at the worth of Rs 131 crore. Besides, central assistance of Rs 47 crore has also been approved.

The count of affordable houses in Puducherry has now been sanctioned to 3,848. 2,093 houses approved for Puducherry city of which 592 houses for Karaikal, 358 houses for Yanam and 85 houses for Mahe.
