5,282 Affordable Flats for Maharashtra Police under New Housing Scheme

Up to 5,282 Maharashtra police personnel are all set to receive brand new homes under a new housing scheme in Lohegaon. The homes are being constructed in the Maharashtra Police Mega City Cooperative Housing Society project in Lohegaon village in Pune district. The construction of the housing units in mega housing project in 116 acres has already begun and the work is expected to complete within next few years.

The police personnel ranging from constable to the additional DGP from across the state have been allotted flat numbers in a function held on Sunday, 9 August.

The housing project which was first conceived in 2006 was planned for 165 acres but only 116 acres of land was procured. The project is located near a hillock on the Vadgaon Shinde Road, 4 kms from Lohegaon.

The construction of the homes will be done in phased manner. 3,666 flats will be constructed in the first phase and the rest 1,582 flats will come up in phase two in 60 buildings each having 14 floors. The cost of the flats in the project will start from Rs. 4.68 lakh. 1RK to 4.5BHK flats will be offered.

The housing project will be equipped with all the modern lifestyle facilities which includes electricity generator for 24×7 power supply, free parking space, swimming pool, health club, community hall, shopping center, police chowkie, hospital, bank, fire station, post office, etc.
