2.03 Lakh Affordable Houses to be Sanctioned in Ahmedabad Under HFA Scheme

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development will launched 2.03 lakh houses affordable houses in Ahmedabad to boost the central government’s housing for all mission. The decision will be taken in the function of CREDAI (Confederation of Real Estate Developers Associations of India) in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad scheduled for April 9.

Central government is working very hard to attract the private developer for the construction of affordable housing projects and various measures has also been announced to promote the affordable housing across the nation.

The maximum size of these housing units will be 643 sq ft carpet area which is equivalent to around 900 sq feet built up area.

As per the information received from the president of CREDAI, the association has decided to assume a major role in involving its members for affordable housing projects.

The affordable housings is also being promoted by the government and CREDAI would like to work as a nodal agency to enable the buyers to take the benefits of the Pradhan Mnatri AWas Yojana.

According infrastructure status will help the developer in securing construction loan at very competitive rates. Along with this, extending the 80IB benefits which will make the profit earned by a affordable housing project tax free, the prices of affordable housing units will become very competitive.

The housing units in the scheme will be available in the range of Rs 12 lakh to Rs 35 lakh which would be vary city and location wise.

A senior official in the ministry said as the developers are the second most important stakeholder in the housing sector after the buyer, the government has decided to rope them in to distribute the various benefits to the end users.
