Finally, the list of allottees has been set by Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority to allot the plots in the pending scheme of YEIDA. The list comprised of 21,000 allottees who will get their plots along Yamuna Expressway in the starting March next year. The plot size ranging from 300 square meter to 4,000 square meter situated in Sector-18 and 20 and which were sale in 2009. But the allotment of plots were delayed due to the higher demand of compensation of farmers for their acquired lands. The plots were then priced at Rs 4,750 per square meter and were allotted through a lottery system.

According to the statement of YEIDA Officials, allottees faced delays in getting possession of their plots as farmers of the 77 villages where the plots were located have been agitating for 64.7% enhanced compensation.
On this issue, the UP government directed Yamuna Expressway Authority to pay enhanced compensation to the farmers on the condition that they withdraw their petitions and hand over the plots to the Authority.

After the direction of state government, the authority had started liquidating enhanced compensation amount to the farmers. According to the source, the authority had disbursed over Rs. 20 crore, following which the authority took possession of around 54 hectare of land in sector-18 and 20.

The process, however, came to a standstill after scores of farmers filed a plea in the Allahabad high court against the land acquisition process. The Authority has to disburse nearly Rs 6,000 crore as compensation to farmers belonging to 77 villages in the region between Greater Noida and Jewar.

Arunvir Singh, the CEO of YEIDA said in his statement that “We will leave no stone unturned in disbursing the enhanced compensation to farmers. Redressing farmer issues and taking possession of the plots is our top priority and will be done in a time-bound manner as soon as we receive formal directions from the government to start compensation disbursement. The orders could come this week.” Once the process of taking possession of the plots is over, the allottees will start getting them.
