The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Indo German Chamber of Commerce )IGCC) have signed an MoU for setting up a Centre of Excellence for the MSMEs in West Bengal by identifying technology partners and skill development from German experts.

In order to increase our export potential, the MSME (micro, small and medium enterprises) sector in West Bengal will need access to cutting edge technology and continually upgrade the skill and Germany has the strength to give this technological expertise and skilling services, Bengal Chamber president Indrajit Sen said in a statement.

The Centre of Excellence will provide much-needed fillip and confidence to the MSME sector to scale up trade from the state and it is our first initiative towards industrial resurgence in Bengal.

The Bengal Chamber is indeed taking a lead and pivotal role in the MSME sector. Its core strength, particularly in the MSME sector, is extremely well recognised. The manufacturing subcommittee is working very hard. IGCC has done us all very proud in associating itself with BCC&I. The government of Bengal has been actively associated with all endeavours of BCCI. We look forward to further such great lead.

During the annual general meeting of BCC&I held in September, a MoU was signed between them and the Indo German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC), about starting a centre of excellence for MSME, which would help the sector in Bengal to identify suitable technology partners from Germany.
