National Talent Search Examination 2017-18 is a scholarship scheme for which NCERT (National Council of Education Research and Training) conducts two level NTSE exam, Stage-1 and Stage-2 to identify the talented students and nurture the talent of selected students by provided scholarships for higher education. The students who wants to make national talent search examination registration willing to get financial assistance under NTSE scheme can fill the NTSE application form.
Official notification for conducting the national talent search examination 2017 along with dates, scholarship, reservation, selection procedure, qualifying marks and eligibility etc has been uploaded on the official website of NCERT at ncert.nic.in.

National Talent Search Examination the most difficult examination at high school level in the country in which student studying in class 10th can only participate. Students searching for the application form of NTSE exam 2017 can download from the official website of respective State/UT for both stage-1 and stage-2 examination of NTSE.
NTSE Scholarship Amount
As per the information, 1000 scholarships will be provided for different stages of education.
- Rs. 1250/- per month for class-XI to XII.
- Rs. 2000/- per month for Undergraduates (UG) and Post-graduates (PG).
- Amount of Scholarship for Ph.D. is fixed in accordance with the UGC norms.
NTSE Selection Process
Students who will qualify the Stage-I exam will be selected by States/UTs for Stage-II examination, conducted by NCERT. And qualifying marks for General category candidates is 40% in each paper and for SC (Scheduled Caste, ST (Scheduled Tribes) and PH (Physically Handicapped) candidates is 32% in each paper.

NTSE Exam Pattern (Paper-I, II and III for Stage-I and Stage-II)
Paper pattern for written examination of National Talent Search Examination 2017 will have three papers of 50, 50 and 100 marks and detail of paper, time duration and number of marks is available in the list below:

At Stage-II (NTSE National Level Examination), there will be negative marking in each paper and for each wrong answer, there will a deduction of 1/3 marks. No marks will be deducted for unattemptcd questions.
MAT (Mental Ability Test): In this test, the question will come from analogies, series, problem solving, reasoning, classification, figures, coding words, etc. The MAT test check the candidate’s ability to think, reasoning and problem solving.
SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test): In this test the question will come from Science, Mathematics, history, geography, political science and economics. There will a Language comprehensive test also.
Students who are studying in Class X in recognized schools are eligible to appear for the Stage-1 examination, conducted by the State/UT’s, in which the schools are located. Students registered under Open Distance Learning (ODL) will also be eligible for scholarship, provided the student is below the age of 18 years (as on 1st July of the particular year), the student is not employed and s/he is appearing in class X examination for the first time.
