Uttar Pradesh Housing & Development Board will soon come up with 10,000 affordable houses in cities such as Lucknow, Ghaziabad and Meerut. The houses will be launched under the state government Samajwadi Awas Yojna and the houses will be available at the price range of Rs. 15 lakh to Rs. 30 lakh. The Samajwadi Awas Yojna (SAY) was launched in the starting year of 2015 and now many housing schemes are currently running under the scheme.

The plan of constructing 10,000 affordable houses will provide the benefit to Lower Income Group and Medium Income Group of the society. The construction of houses will begin this year and the registration for the same will be started in the first week of April; Out of total 9,000 houses will be constructed in Lucknow.

The scheme was to be launched earlier but due to high rates of land, builder was unable to build houses in “SAY” price range of Rs 15-30 lakh. Hence, the board reduced land rates to make project more affordable and profitable and ordered the builder to start construction by March-end. In the private housing project, a builder has to pay 1.5 times of land rate to develop group housing project, but in these project they just have to pay the land rate.

In Lucknow, UPHDB will construct the houses in Avadh Vihar Yojna of Sultanpur Road, Vrindavan Yojna on Rae Bareli Rod and Amrapali Yojna on Hardoi Road.
