UHUDA to offer 2,000 Houses Under Jan Awas Yojana in Rudrapur

The development agency of Uttarakhand (Uttarakhand Housing and Urban Development Authority) has decided to provide housing units to the people of Rudrapur under Jan Awas Yojana. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed in between UHUDA and Water and Power Consultancy Services Limited (WAPCOS) for the construction of these houses.

The aim behind the launch of Jan Awas Yojana in Uttarakhand is to provide housing units to economically weaker section of the society. The construction work will be started in the end of this month.

In the first phase of Jan Awas Yojana will be launched in Rudrapur for 2,000 houses and 1BHK apartment will be available for the EWS category at the estimated cost of Rs 2.5 lakh per unit.

According to the statement of housing Secretary of Uttarakhand government, Meenakshi Sundaram, the task of constructing these housing unit has been given to the companies, will be begin in the end of November. These housing units will be available by April 2017 for allotment. “We are also looking at expanding to the other cities in the state soon. UHUDA will be responsible from conception to commissioning of the houses”, she also added.
