Tatkal Scheme Tamil Nadu is an special kind of scheme for farmers under which the state government is providing power connection at free of cost. The scheme will benefit the farmers who are willing to adopt agriculture service connection as the government will provide free agriculture electricity connection to them.

Under Tamilnadu Tatkal Scheme, power connection would be provided to the farmers who are willing to pay the amount of power motors. To get free agriculture electricity connection in Tamilnadu, the farmers would have to pay an amount of Rs. 2.5 lakh for a 7.5 HP motor, Rs. three lakh for a 10 HP motor; four lakh for 15 HP motor.

Many of the connection has already been distributed to the farmers and now the government has set to distribute over 50,000 connections.

So far, the TANGEDCO (Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation) has received 20,000 application from farmers to get power connection under TN Tatkal Scheme and the board has already released about 3,500 connection across the state.

Besides, the government has also introduced the scheme of providing power connection to domestic consumers in just one day. Under this scheme, about 85,000 connections had already been given.

Application form can be downloaded from the link below and dully filled form along with required document to be submitted at Executive Engineer/Operation and Maintenance Office of the jurisdiction concerned. Application Fees for the registration of Tatkal Scheme is Rs. 50/- which to be paid at the time of application submission.
