Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment (SVAYEM) Yojana is a flaship programme for providing financial support to the youths of Assam to take up income generating activities in the manufacturing trading and service sector. It will be implemented in all the districts of Assam including autonomous district counclis.

Under SVAYEM Scheme, a loan of Rs.1 lakh will be given for new entrepreneurs and Rs. 2 lakh for existing entrepreneurs. The 2 lakh beneficiaries would have be part of self help groups, joint liability groups etc before 1st September 2020.
The redesigned SVAYEM Yojana 2023 will be launched with budget of Rs.1000 crore which is to be spent in the next 3 months without any banking linkage. Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment Yojana 2023 will provide financial support to the youths to take up income generating activities in manufacturing, trading and service sector.

Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment Yojana aims to generate employment opportunities in rural as well as urban areas through setting up of new ventures as well as growing exiting ventures. In the SVAYEM Scheme 2023, financial assistance will be provided to micro and small business entities engaged in the manufacturing, trading and services sector. The government will also provide financial assistance for enhancement of income level of traditional artisans ensuring sustainable growth.

Eligibility for SVAYEM Self Employment Scheme 2023
All the applicants must be fulfill the following eligibility criteria for Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment Yojana 2023 :-
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of Assam state.
- The age of applicant should be above 18 years.
- He/ She should have skills experience, knowledge etc., to undertake the income generating activities.
- The applicant should passed educational qualification of at least class VII standard.
- The applicant should be a part of the existing Self Help Groups, Joint Liability Groups etc. before 1st September 2020.
