Rajkot Municipal Corporation will soon launch its own affordable housing project in the city to cater the needs of affordable housing. According to the Rajkot Municipal Commissioner Vijay Nehra, RMC has decided to launch its own housing project in the city. The project named as “SMART Ghar” will be constructed on the land already owned by the corporation.
By launching this project RMC will become the first ever Municipal Corporation in the state of Gujarat to launch its own housing project. RMC aims to benefit the people who were not covered in the housing schemes of the development authorities of the state. The civic body will spend Rs. 2 Crore on the project.
Apart from the housing project, RMC also announced to proposed animal hostel for stray cattle and setting up of hawkers’ zone.
RMC will be focusing on the SMART (sensitive, modern, affordable, robust infrastructure and technology driven) approach for its next year’s developments across the municipality.
