Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Ujjain for 2,000 Houses in First Phase

A tender has been sanctioned for constructing houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Ujjain. The tender is given to a Gujarat based company named as MV Omni who will construct around 2006 houses under PM Awas Yojana in Ujjain.

The sources from Nagar Nigam informed that the project has a worth of Rs. 146 crore and tender was opened for multi-construction and around half-of-dozen tenders were received of which one was cancelled.

Location of Flats:
Nigam officer informed that the project would be constructed in the area of Hamukheri and the acquired land of Kanipura which has been free-out. Apart from this, the project would also be implemented in Manchhaman area. And the priority would be given to Hamukheri land.

The people who are living in slums would be able to avail the benefits of this project. The cost of each EWS house under the scheme has determined to Rs. 2 lakh. However the amount of instalments and time period has not been decided. And it is also been expecting by the official that the cost of house may go up or down.

Nagar Nigam would sale to the needy people of lower income group and middle income group and amount received from them would be spend on the project construction. The cost of houses would be determined on the basis of the condition of house.

The construction process for the houses in the project would soon be started, the official said.
