Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Pune to Benefit 2.5 Lakh Families

State government of Maharashtra has announced to benefit nearly 2.5 lakh homeless families listed as beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Pune. These beneficiaries would be provided housing units under housing for all by 2022 mission.

As per the information received from the source, the families are spread across the two corporation areas of Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad and 13 municipal councils. And the families estimation was out from the demand survey of district administration.

A proposal of constructing 50,000 houses in next five years has been created by the officials which will be sent to the state government by 30 April

On March 30, all district collectors were directed by CM Devendra Fadnavis to send two proposals to push forward the scheme. And later on April 3, a resolution was issued to all collectors to form committees to speed up proposals under the scheme.

Recently, the government conducted a survey to estimate the demand of housing in area through which nearly 2.5 families listed to benefit under the scheme and the government has aimed to construct 50,000 houses annually and the task has already been initiated by selecting seven councils out of the 13 councils in the first phase where 14,000 houses will be constructed. Besides in two corporation, the government will construct 36,000 houses for the beneficiary.

Plan to execute the scheme in the area will be created by MHADA (Maharashtra Housing Area Development Authority) and the district administration has already made land available in the area including, Shirur, Talegaon, Lonavla, Chakan. The above areas are fall under councils and Chincholi and Charoli which comes under Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.

The committee created by the collectors will handle the task of land transferring and the execution process. And the overall monthly process and the proposals will be reviewed in the meeting of officials.

The GR clearly states that the committee should look into clearing hurdles pertaining to land acquisition, tendering process or administrative approvals faced by the authority.
