PMAY-Housing for Scheme in Nagpur to be Launched on 14 April 2017

On the birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, 14th April 2017, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch ambitious housing mission named as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Nagpur, Maharashtra. As per the information received from the source, the state government will construct about 40,000 affordable houses under 21 housing projects.

Today, the ceremony will be held at Divisional Sports Complex, Mankapur, Nagpur and the program will begin at 11:45 AM. The government will make available its land for the construction of housing project under the scheme an the implementing work will be done by (MHADA) Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority.

Besides, 50 per cent rebate will be given on joint measurement of land, and stamp duty will be Rs 1,000 only for the buyers in economically weaker section category. The cost of flats under PMAY-Maharashtra will also be reduced by the government.

About 400 acres land has been provided to MHADA for the construction these housing projects and it is expected that the development work of PMAY-housing projects will be completed between 24 months and 36 months.

The estimated worth for these projects is Rs. 3,100 crore.

Homes to be Constructed Under PMAY-Nagpur

  • 500 housing units in Wanjara and Chikhli Deosthan in Nagpur city
  • 2,077 units in Waddhamana
  • 534 in Pimpalgaon
  • 324 in Datala (Chandrapur)
  • 1,218 in Akoli
  • 255 in Sheoni
  • 304 in Buldhana
