With the aim of providing housing for all by 2022, the central government has approved 5354 houses for urban poor in Jharkhand under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin).
For the first phase of PM Awas Yojana, the construction process of 5354 houses has been approved. The district level implementation process has been started for the scheme. The target for constructing houses under the scheme has been up for Jharkhand.
According to the source, around 5,354 houses will be constructed in the financial year 2016-17. In the first phase, the priority will be given to the people those are homeless or living in mud houses and one-bedroom houses.
A priority will be given to the villages and Panchayat selected under MP Adarsh Gram Yojana Gram, PM Adarsh Gram Yojana, Shyama Charan Mukherjee Mission, insurgency-hit areas, Adarsh Gram Yojana and ODF and other panchayat areas.
As per the information, 28 Panchayat have been selected under PM Awas Yojana Gramin in Jharkhand; 9 from Fatehpur Block, 4 from Jamtara Block, 3 from Karmatandh, 2 panchayats from Kundhit Block, 9 from Nala Block and 1 from Naryanpur.
