Pension Hiked for Senior Citizens, Widows & Disabled in Arunachal Pradesh

State government of Arunachal Pradesh has given a gift to the senior citizens, widows and differently abled persons by increasing the amount of pension for them. AP government has approved the substantial enhancement in the pensions of senior citizens, widows and differently abled persons.

On 18 November, a cabinet meeting was organised in which the government had took the decision to hike the pensions under three schemes listed below.

  • Old Age Pension Scheme
  • National Widow Pension Scheme
  • National Disability Pension Scheme

As per the information received from the source, the pension amount under Old Age Pension Scheme for 60-79 years has been increased to Rs. 1500 while earlier it was only Rs. 200/-. Similarly, Old Age Pension Scheme for 80 years and above was Rs 500 earlier which has now become Rs 2,000. The National Widow Pension Scheme for both below 80 years and above 80 years have been increased to Rs 2,000. Earlier, the pension amount under National Widow Pension Scheme was Rs 300 and Rs 500 for below 80 years and above 80 years respectively.

The enhancement in the pension amount will help the people financially.
