Home seeker will soon have another option to buy a ready-made flats in North Delhi Area in Azadpur and Model Town.
According to the source, North Delhi Municipal Corporation will construct high-rise building for fulfill the demand of housing in the area.
On Tuesday, the corporation said that they will demolish its staff quarter in these area and construct two high-rise building which will have at least 22 floors high.
Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Civic Centre— in architecture said that the new buildings will be constructed similar to the north corporation’s headquarter. For parking space, the building will have at least two underground levels with enough parking area.
The project will also have market complex which would be spread over 10% area of the project.
The staff quarter in Azadpur are constructed in two-storied building spread over nine hectare and has 520 flats and the staff quarter in Model Town are developed in four-storied building and has 512 flats. The staff quarters in Model Town are also spread in nine hectare.
The senior official of North Delhi Municipality Corporation added that since, the present structure has lot of unused spaces the new building will have at least four- times more space. The corporation will first allot houses to the old occupants, after which the remaining flats will be given out to private individuals on a lease basis.”
The number of flats to be leased out to non-government staffers and their cost are yet to be determined.
“We might follow a procedure similar to that of Delhi Development Authority and draw lots,” he added.
