The Mysore Urban Development Authority was organized on 16th May in the year 1988. In the Year 1904, the Mysore Government Formed a City Improvement Trust Board (CITB) to improve the development in the city. The CITB is the first earliest town planning board in country. The CITB planned new extensions and created the modern civic amenities like sewage system and new drainage.
