Mysore Master Plan 2031 to be Notified Soon

Mysore Master Plan 2031: Was on the stage of being repealed but now is it set to be notified in due course. The Chairman of Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA), Mr. K.R. Mohan Kumar said in his statement that he has received oral communications in this regards and there would be no more meeting and discussion related to the plan document.

The plan document of master plan is on waiting stage for signature of the Director General of Town Planning and Survey. Once the plan document get the approval, it will sent to the government for final notification.
Vinay Kumar Sorake, the Minister of Urban Development has also issued in-principal approval of the plan. Mr. Kumar said that the approval has gone through all legal formalities, and hence it is due for notification which may come in about 10 days.

The objections and suggestions were invited by the authority from the general public earlier and the MUDA received about 1,880 objections, of which valid and suitable are incorporated.

Association of Housing Cooperative Societies welcomed the development plan of the city and the source said that the plan would remove all the hurdles in the city’s development. The plot development projects of MUDA would receive a green signal. Although, the plan faces criticism from local MLAs who wanted it to be scrapped on the grounds. Not only the MLAs, the real estate builders and developers also favored the protest of the MLAs against the plan. While the Mysore Grahakara Parishat (MGP) said that it lacked vision, was based on faulty statistics and was conceived without local consultation.

The MGP has threatened to approach the court in case the plan is notified, as the plan will be valid till 2031 and will affect the future development of the city, and have a bearing on the quality of life of its residents.
