Mysore Master Plan 2031 May Soon Get Approved

Mysore Master Plan 2031: Has been opposed by NGOs and elected representatives and the government may soon provide the final nod in subject to few modification of Mysore Master Plan 2031.

Even the modifications to the present document of plan had been opposed by NGOs like Mysore Grahakara Parishat (MGP). They said that the plan was prepared without local consultations, based on faulty statistics, lacked imagination or vision and would spell ruin to the city.

An official of Mysore Urban Development Authority told the media that the state government was keep on scrapping the plan when the plan was sought legal opinion on the issue and was informed that it could not be overruled at this stage as the entire exercise had passed through the necessary legal processes.

The official also added that “The legal opinion was given four days ago and the government was told that the plan had received in-principal approval by the previous government, the Director of Country and Town Planning, had cleared it and hence could not be scrapped at this juncture”.

With some modifications and suitable correction, the plan can be approved. Mr. K.R. Mohan Kumar has given his view to media that various projects going for the construction in the absence of master plan, it would be more beneficial for developers to construct these projects after the final order from the government.
