Mukhya Mantri Awas Yojana Surat: The scheme is in the end of its registration period, applicants who wants to avail this opportunity of buying a house in sural under Mukhya Mantri Awas Yojana, can apply for it because only few days are left to fill the application form.
According to the source, the scheme will be closed on 31 May 2016. In this scheme, houses are available for economical weaker section and low income group of the society.
To avail the benefits of the scheme, interested one have to fill the application form which to be submitted in office of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC).
According to the information received from the source, SMC made 11,000 houses for EWS and LIG. Of total constructed flats, 1700 units are still lying vacant. For these flats, SMC re-issued application forms for five times but every time SMC received a low response.
SMC official said that of the previous allotments nearly 800 allotments are likely to get cancelled as they have not yet paid up the money according to the schedule fixed by SMC. “These houses will also be again re-allotted if some people make applications for them,” he also added.
Under the Chief Minister Housing Scheme, the EWS units comprises of one room kitchen whereas the LIG units are one BHK homes made for urban poor of the city.
A large number of people living in slums have been allotted EWS houses at different places like Kosad, Bhestan and others. This campaign is going on to make Surat a slum free city by 2019.
