m Kisan Portal : As per TRAI dat of May 2014, through there are about 38 crore mobile telephone connections in rural areas, internet penetration in the countryside is still abysmally low. Therefore, mobile messaging is most effective toll so far having pervasive outreach to nearly 8.93 crore farm families. mKisan SMS portal for farmers enables all central and state government organizations in agriculture and allied sectors to give information / services / advisories to farmers by SMS in their language, preference of agricultural practices and location

mKisan SMS portal was inaugurated by Hon’ble President of India on July 16, 2013 and since its inception nearly 327 crore messages or more than 1044 crore SMSs have been sent to farmers throughout the lenth and breadth of the country.

Kisan Call Centre Registration

Farmers can call up Kisan Call Center (KCC) through a toll free number 1800-180-1551. Registration of the farmers is done by Kisan Call Centre Agent at the Kisan Call Centre who records personall details of the farmer in the Kisan Knowledge Management System (KKMS). Farmer is then asked to opt his mode of receiving information / advice i.e Text message (SMS) or Voice message.

Web Registration

A farmer having internet access can register through the portal or go to the nearest Common Service Center (CSC) to register with the help of a Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE). A onetime free of Rs. 3 per registration will be charged by the VLE. Link for web registration https://mkisan.gov.in/wbreg.aspx.

The complete process of registration is given below step by step.

Step 1 : Visit mKisan official portal https://mkisan.gov.in.

Step 2 : At home, page go to “Buyer Seller” category and click on “Seller/Buyers Login/Registration” link or direct link https://mkisan.gov.in/BREG/SellerReg.aspx

Step 3 : If you are already registered then login with mobile no.and password otherwise click “New Registration“.

Step 4 : Enter mobile number for registration and click on “Proceed” button and fill registration form.

mKisan Registration through SMS

Farmers can also register by sending an SMS on 51969 or 7738299899.

Procedure and format for registration are as

Step 1 : Format for typing in the message text box is “KISAAN REG<NAME>, <STATE NAME>, <DISTRICT NAME> and <BLOCK NAME>” (only 1st 3 letter of state, district & block Names are needed). Please note that commas (,) are necessary.

Step 2 : After typing the message send it to 51969 or 7738299899.

Farmer will be charged for this SMS. there will however be no charge for subsequent SMSs received from experts and officers.

mKiasn Selling Product List

There are following steps to check mKisan selling product list

Step 1 : Visit mKisan official portal https://mkisan.gov.in.

Step 2 : At home page go to “Buyer Seller” and click at “Selling Product List“. or direct link https://mkisan.gov.in/BREG/BuyerProduct.aspx.

Step 3 : Select State, District, Block, Sector, Category, Animal / Commodity and click on “Commodity List“.

Step 4 : The list will open on the screen.

mKisan KCC / Helpline

Kisan Call Centres (KCC) Call center services are available from 6:00 a.m to 10:00 PM on all 7 days of the week at each KCC location. Kisan Call Centre agents know as Farm Tele Advisor (FTAs), are graduates or above (i.e PG or Doctorate) in agriculture or allied (Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Poultry, Bee-keeping, Sericulture, Aquaculture, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Marketing, Bio technology, Home Science etc ) and possess excellent communication skill in respective local language.
