After successfully announcing the draw result of MHADA lottery 2015, the authority has made the announcement of sale of about 6200 flats in the next year’s lottery.
Latest Update: MHADA Lottery 2016 in Mumbai: Application Start from 24 June for 972 Flats
Maharshtra Housing and Area Development Authority will be offering 4,702 affordable homes at Bolinj in Vasai and about 1,500 at Powai, Mulund and Goregaon. According to the sources, the authority is making full efforts to keep the prices of the flats as low as possible so that more people can apply for the MHADA Lottery 2016.
MHADA is also trying its best to increase the supply of homes to the EWS, LIG and MIG category to cater to the increasing demand of affordable housing.
The authority will be constructing one and two BHK flats in a mega housing project at Bolinj where the huge chunk of land is available for the same.
The MHADA Lottery 2016 for the homes in Bolinj project will be conducted in January-February and Mumbai homes lottery will be conducted in May 2016.
The authority has also made it clear that most of the houses in future will be constructed for EWS, LIG and MIG categories. The quota for Higher Income Group houses will be reduced to just 3%-4% in MHADA Lottery 2016 and later. However, MHADA didn’t offered any HIG home in it 2015 lottery.
430 of the 997 houses offered in MHADA lottery 2015 were for the lower income group falling under the income group between Rs 16,000 and Rs 40,000 a month. 326 flats were for the EWS earning less than Rs. 16 thousand per month and rest 241 for middle income group earning between 40 thousand to 70 thousand per month.
MHADA launched its 2015 lottery in April for 1063 homes and received about 1.25 Lakh valid applications.

The price of the flats should be reduced as the lottery is for the people who are staying in Mumbai/Maharashtra more than 15 or 20 years but cannot afford home because of high prices. Please make it affordable for low income group and mid income group so that maximum people can apply and win the lottery for their living.
