MHADA Conducts Survey to Know Housing Demand Under PM Awas Yojana

Maharashtra Housing Area Development Authority has started a survey to know the demand of housing in the state under Central government’s Housing for All Scheme. MHADA is a nodal agency for constructing housing units under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

To get the requirement of housing units in the state, MHADA has already commenced the process for survey. Under the survey, the individuals who are seeking for an affordable housing unit under PM Awas Yojana have to fill the application form available on MHADA’s official website www.mhada.maharashtra.gov.in and also have to fill the personal details to register for the scheme.

To be eligible for the scheme the individual’s average family annual income should be less than Rs. 3,00,000/-, the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) are eligible for a house of 300 sq. ft. carpet area and to afford this home government will provide subsidy to the eligible individuals central government will provide a subsidy of Rs. 1,50,000/- and state government will provide Rs. 1,00,000/-.

The implementation process of PMAY will be done by MHADA to achieve the target of constructing housing for all by 2022. To know the demand, the survey will be help in whole Mumbai Metropolitan Region within the municipal limits of Mumbai city, Thane, Kalyan-Dombivali, Bhiwandi-Nijampur, Mira-Bhayandar, Vaisai-Virar, Ulhasnagar, Navi Mumbai and also city council limits of Pen, Panvel, Karjat, Khopoli, Badlapur, Ambernath and also all villages within the limits of Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority.

PM Awas Yojana is the initiative of Prime Minster Narendra Modi and the scheme was launched on 25 June 2015 with the aim to provide shelter to each and every citizen of the country, the government has set a targets to build 2 crore homes all over the country, under PMAY over a period of 7 years.
