The Uddav Thackeray government in Maharashtra has launched Balasaheb Thackeray Accidental Insurance Scheme 2020 in the Maharashtra state on Wednesday. The announcement about the launch of the new scheme was made by the state Health Minister Rajesh Tope, according to news agency ANI. Under this Accidental Insurance Scheme, government will provide Rs.3000 to road accident victims.

Balasaheb Thackeray Accident Insurance Scheme which promises golden hour treatment to road accident victims who will be entitled to a maximum benefit of up to Rs.30,000 for 72 hours hospital stay within the state. The intention is to save lives and bring down the fatality rate of road accidents by rate of road accidents by making treatment available immediately.

According to the sate health department, on an average 40,000 persons get injured and nearly 13,0000 lives are lost annually in road accidents. The health department has pegged annual expenditure for implementation of the scheme at Rs120 crore. The sate will provide funds to the state heath assurance society a body which implements various health schemes.

Balasaheb Thackeray Accidental Insurance Scheme 2020

The scheme which has been envisaged to come to the rescue of accident victims, has been named “Balasaheb Thackeray Accidental Insurance Scheme” to commemorate the founder of the Shiv Sena and father of the current Chief Minister of the state Uddhav Thackeray. The scheme has been launched by the government with an aim of proving timely treatment to the accident victims which could prove crucial in saving their lives.

According to the provision of the insurance scheme, accident victims wil be entitled to a maximum aid of Rs.30,000 by the state government, which could come in use to cover the immediate treatment cost at the private hospitals across the sate.Providing immediate treatment to accident Victim is not denied even in private hospitals for the money.
