Kerala State Housing Board Will Provide 1 Lakh Houses Within 3 Months

Kerala State Housing Board announced to provide 1,000 houses to BPL (Below Poverty Line) category of the society. The houses will be provided to people within next three months. All the houses will be on offer under “KSHB Grihashree Scheme”. Earlier 525 houses were allotted to people and now 1000 houses will also provide under the scheme.

An official of KSHB said that the houses will be completed within next three months. The earmarked budget of Rs 46 crore for various housing scheme, would be utilized before December 31, 2015.

Kerala State Housing Board requested the state government of Kerala to entrust the KSHB three new housing schemes which was announced in the budget. These schemes have a total budgetary allocation of Rs 452 crore.

The board has over 100 acres land financially which will also utilize for housing project. The Housing Board will construct a mega housing scheme with three lakh houses, because the state government has entrusted the housing board to build these houses within next three years. The construction of three lakh houses was announced in the 2013-14 budget.

The housing project will be constructed in NCC Nagar in Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Kattappana, Mulamkunnathukavu, Chalakudy and Edappally. Owing to the increasing demand for villas by expatriate Keralites, the Housing Board will undertake villa projects near Kozhikode Medical College and Akkulam in Thiruvananthapuram.
