Integrated Industrial Township in Greater Noida & DMIC Project – Investment Opportunities

On the occasion of launching of DMIC project and the foundation laying of Integrated Industrial Township in Greater Noida by the CM Akhilesh Yaday on 2nd March, 2014, we decided to share the information about the two projects connected to each other.

DELHI – MUMBAI INDUSTRIAL CORRIDOR PROJECT
The 1483 km long Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Project will start from Dadri in Uttar Pradesh and terminate at the Jawahar Lai Nehru Port, Mumbai. The corridor will pass through 12 districts of Uttar Pradesh. An investment of Rs. 5.4 billion is estimated on the entire project.

Infrastructure facilities costing Rs. 25,000 crore will be developed by the year 2040 in the areas through which the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor passes in Uttar Pradesh. This will not only ensure unprecedented industrial development, but also provide employment to about 12 lakh people.

The Central Government has sanctioned the amount in shape of equity for two early bird projects of the proposed Dadri-Noida-Ghaziabad Investment Zone (200 square meter) viz. the integrated industrial township in Greater Noida and Multi Modal Logistic Hub at Dadri.

Besides these projects, another early bird project namely Bodaki Multi Modal Transport Hub is also proposed under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor

INTEGRATED INDUSTRIAL TOWNSHIP AT GREATER NOIDA
The Integrated Industrial Township is a flagship project under DMIC to drive manufacturing activity in the region in order to promote sustainable development. The project is planned with the key objective to create a “knowledge based ecosystem” integrated with industries leading to innovation and economic development. The township will act as a magnet to promote R&D activities, and will subsequently promote industrial development, in line with DMIC’s objective to promote industrial and manufacturing activities in the DNGIR region.

SITE AREA – 300 Hectare
DIRECT INDUSTRIAL EMPLOYMENT – 58,000 workers
INVESTMENT POTENTIAL – Rs 33,000 crore
BUILT-UP AREA – 6 million square meter

KEY COMPONENTS OF DEVELOPMENT

  • 51 % of the site is allocated for industrial land use.
  • Industry mix proposed- Hi-Tech, Biotech and R&D.
  • Green open spaces spread across the site.
  • The proposed industry cluster is planned with all supporting amenities – residential, education, research, commercial, recreation, offices & administration uses- forming part of the mixed “community” proposed within the industrial township.
  • Vertical manufacturing, multi-storey & multi-tenanted buildings.
  • Mixed use integrated development to promote a ‘walk-to-work’ concept in the industrial township and promoting a ‘Work-Live-Play-Learn’ environment.

DADRI-NOIDA-GHAZIABAD INVESTMENT REGION
The Dadri-Noida-Ghaziabad Investment Region (DNGIR) has been identified as one of the seven Investment Regions in DMIC, a model industrial corridor of international standards, with emphasis on expanding the manufacturing and services base of India. It is planned as the first comprehensive built environment for launching the DMIC Investment Region in western Uttar Pradesh, and for showcasing the application of future city planning strategies for industrial setups in the country.

The region is envisioned to provide a globally competitive environment for setting up businesses with self-sustaining industrial townships and world-class infrastructure, connected by road and rail to ports and logistics hubs that will strengthen the position of western Uttar Pradesh (alongside Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad) as a national and international manufacturing destination.

POTENTIAL INDUSTRIES – core industrial and sunrise sectors such as food, auto, electrical and electronics, IT/ITes, R&D, aerospace, biotech and hi-tech.
PLANNED RESIDENTIAL POPULATION – 2.5 million
