High Court Puts Stay on Faridabad’s 2031 Draft Master Plan

The recently notified draft 2031 master plan of Faridabad has been put on stay by the High Court after hearing petition filed by the residents of the city. According to the petition the state government is trying to finalize the master plan to facilitate accommodation to certain politicians, builders and land mafias. The high court will here on 16th September again on this.

The state government had issued a notice to invite objections to the master plan from July 18 but the master plan map was uploaded on 12th August on TCP Haryana website, the last day of the submissions of objections. According to the petitioners the state government has notified the final master plan without looking into/acting upon the objections.

The High court has stayed the Haryana Government’s notification issued on 18th July regarding the master plan. The court has also issued notices to the secretary and director, urban local bodies department and Faridabad municipal commissioner, asking them to file replies on the contentions raised in the petition.
