Government Planning New Development Authority for Machilipatnam

Machilipatnam Development Authority: On Monday, Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishna Murthy said that the state government was planning to set up a development authority (Machilipatnam Development Authority) for all rounds of development of Machilipatnam including the proposed deep sea port and port-based industries.

According to the source, MDA would be assigned with the task off preparing an action plan to develop Machilipatnam and submit a report to the state government. The MP and MLAs of Machilipuram would also give their view and inputs for preparing the plan, he also added.

After that Mr. Krishna Murthy inaugurated the new building of Lady Ampthil Junior College for Girls and promised to upgrade it in to a degree college soon.

Meanwhile, Excise and BC Welfare Minister K. Ravindra said in his statement that efforts were on to introduce an exclusive sub-plan for people from the Backward Classes on the lines of SC/ST Sub Plan.

“Preparations are on to come up with the BC Sub Plan involving an outlay of Rs. 6,500 crore,” Mr. Ravindra also added.
