GDA Coming up with Bigger Urban Cluster in Zone 1

Ghaziabad Development Authority has approved the zonal development plan of Zone 1 on Friday during its board meeting. The authority is coming up with an even bigger and better planned urban cluster there where residential, group housing, commercial and institutional sectors will be developed. The authority approved the plan after a searies of hearing the suggestions and feedback received from the general public in October.

GDA’s developed cluster in Zone 1 will be around 6 times bigger than the Zone 6 which comprises Indirapuram. It will be developed over areas including Sihani, Morta, Dhookna, Sikroda and Bhowapur. The cluster will spread over an area of about 3,000 hectares and the population of this area is projected to reach about 6 Lakh by 2021 from current 1.5 Lakh. The authority has planned this area with a population density of 1,000 people per hectare.

Zone 1 is around 5.5 Kilometer in length and 2.5 Kilometer in width. The authority will reserve 15% of the zone area for the green areas. The master plan of zone is ready with all micro-detailing such as road network, sewer network, schools, community centers, commercial areas, hospitals, shopping and entertainment centers and so on.
